Posture & Mobility Group Conference 2019

Presenting Our Research at the Posture & Mobility Group Conference 2019

The Posture and Mobility Group (PMG) Conference is an annual event which brings together therapists, medical engineers, researchers and all who are interested in learning about the latest ‘thinkings and doings’ in the mobility world.

This year the conference focused on powered mobility use in early childhood and was enriched by speakers such as Catherine Holloway (from Global Disability Innovation Hub) explaining why we need to change our approach to assistive technology provision globally, and Roslyn Livingstone & Debbie Field (from Vancouver’s Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children) discussing the differences between various Outcome Measures and how these affect the perceived progress of a child learning to use a wheelchair.

Inclusionaries Lab member Cara was invited to join the plenary session panel to present her research on inclusive mobility design and to talk about the future of designing powered mobility devices for use in early childhood. It was a pleasure to meet the wonderful PMG community and talk to such a range of stakeholders interested in all things mobility.
