Our Work

We are a contemporary inclusive and human-centred design research collective. Our lab has advanced design knowledge and practice by:

  • Establishing new areas of design research; Psychosocial Inclusion, Inclusive Paediatric Mobility (IPM) Design; Design meets Death.
  • Generating design knowledge; frameworks, guidelines and evidence maps for inclusive public/personal/paediatric mobility, healthcare design and design-led participation and engagement.
  • Pioneering interdisciplinary knowledge exchange and education; Designer-in-Residence programme of design research in future hospice care; ‘Design in Healthcare’ course for MBChB Medicine & Surgery students at the Liverpool School of Medicine.
  • Developing innovative health and mobility solutions; SMART Suit upper body exoskeleton; SafariShop mobile shop for inclusive livelihood; DBO commode for hospital wards.
