What would happen if a country elected an AI to the highest post?
CONTEXT
The result of Brexit had been announced and shortly afterwards the Cambridge Analytica scandal broke, demonstrating the power that big data, social media and targeted technology will now have on the future Democracy. So what could the next steps be to push or protect.
METHOD
Gathering current technological processes that are publicly and privately in use and developing technologies that may be released in the future. Exploring and speculating what are and what may be the implications of those technologies interacting with individuals and society.
OUTCOME
Exhibition; The exhibition imagined a ‘Future Museum’, looking back to the future past (2050) from further in the future (2100), giving the overall exhibition a nostalgic feel rather than a prophetic sinister future. I created a series of campaign slogans both official and from protests, a historical mockumentary that describes the rise of the AI known as Janis and it’s various technological instruments. Alongside were models of these technological instruments describing the data they collected and their purpose in this future scenario.
